Maybe it's because I have a penis, but I don't understand the victimhood of some of the Jezzies this morning after the post-Potomac debacle. I just don't.

@rptrcub: A LOT of those women (and others) over-identify with Hillary. That's my best explanation.

OK... well, I think I will just withdraw and observe Jz from now on. Those ladies seem to not have the same snarky sense of humor that I'm used to--or, I could just be an ass. Or both.

@rptrcub: Most of them have no sense of humor whatsoever - the worst sort of stereotypical feminists. And I say that as one who went to a women's college in the 70s and had a roommate majoring in Women's Studies. Megan's right about the over-identification with Hils. I knew today would be hideous over there as they wallowed in the persecution complex.

I'm for Hilz, my wife is for 'Bama, and we're both voting D come November no matter what. We are excited for the other when our candidates are doing well, and we see the benefits and drawbacks of both candidates...

In other words:
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORINGZZZZZZZ!!!!!!

You can see why I don't fit in at Jez whatsoever.

@cynica: And see, I normally support feminists and feminism. It's just when you don't have a sense of snark or humor, I have a hard time with it. That's why I've kinda quit Joe.My.God for a while, 'coz those fellow fairies over there are all about Hilzy and get so incredibly serious and start telling people to fuck themselves with rusty razor blades if you don't agree with them. (See: Donnie McGlurkin/Obama shilling in SC incident. McGlurkin is an "ex-gay," but O disavowed the ex-gayness.)

rptrcub, cynica: As I've said before, I teach feminism and I can't take it over there. Really, most of the palaver is not actually about feminism, but about something else. Which is fine, but the pose that all of this is done in the name of feminism makes those of us who feel alienated or ganged-up on either whip out our credentials (like I just did) or default to "I guess the penised aren't welcome." Which angries up my blood again. I blame outmoded identity politics, which had their place but were always a horribly blunt and easily co-opted political tool. It result in humorless clannishness and overidentification, as Megan said, not to mention shit like white het dudes playing the oppressed minority card. Bleh.

I read Crappy Hour and just don't comment, for everyone's safety.

Meg, how about I just click on Crappy Hour to give you the hitz, OK? I'll read the back & fro between you and Moe but that's it. I'll talk at ya here and at Cynics' Party.

I mean, I'm obviously of the school of thought that if you don't confront the problem, it remains a problem, which is why (when I have time or get really pissed) I will call people out on the worst of it.

That said, I certainly understand the discomfort. The "yelling" can get pretty loud in there some days. I guess I've got a little Don Quixote in me.

Oy! I missed the boat on this one. I was over there as "neophyte."

Doh! Not Jezebel, but Glamorocracy.

I can't take Jezebel any more.
